Catastrophe Model Operation Platform
The Catastrophe Model Operation Platform, CatOP for short, is the business operation platform of the Florida Public Hurricane Loss Model. CatOP was designed to bring together the many sub-systems and applications that make up our catastrophe model while being flexible enough to conveniently accommodate changes in the requirements of the underlying research project.
CatOP automates all aspects of the operation of the model, from the reception and pre-processing of data files from clients, through the configuration and execution of the computer models, to the visualization, analysis, and distribution of results.
CatOP reduces the likelihood of human errors by introducing templates as a key component of the configuration pipeline. The abstraction that comes from a centralized configuration also allows CatOP to support any execution backend and, therefore, promotes seamless scalability.
